Slides (and negatives) in the Minolta 5400 carriers are positioned in landscape orientation. For an image with portrait orientation, I use Silverfast's Preview Rotation button to rotate it by 90 degrees. But the saved scan when openned in Photoshop is reverted back to the landscape orientation. I would have to rotate it by 90 degrees one more time to get the portrait orientation. Is there a way to save a scan as a portrait orientation?
Should this kind of questions be asked at the Minolta forum, or at the Talk About Silverfast 6 forum?
Minolta 5400 scan orientation question
Dear CL
As this may be a "Minolta only" issue, I think you selected the correct forum. However, I am not very picky about this - I just 'hate' multiple / cross-postings...
Addressing the question:
SilverFast shouldn't do so. Generally spoken, expect the endscan to look just like the prescan. However, you can change the orientation (and mirroring) in the densitometer in a way that you'll indeed have a endscan orientated differently from the prescan.
Please check out the page on the densitometer tool in the "overview" section (p. 47, ch. 2, PDF, 1.9 MBytes).
Best regards
