Having recently used Mikrotek 4000tf scanner along with version 6 Silverfast & carried out a crossover upgrade when I recently acquired a Minolta 5400 . Using version 8 the error message"There was a problem starting your scanner.
Please make sure your drivers are installed correctly .Exiting now"
As the drivers are no longer available from Minolta ,I was assured that the drivers were included in the recent Silverfast 8. When I fill in my serial no ..the dialogue box returns .....with me having to re-enter. I often seem to have to force quit as the program seems to crash.....
Please help .
Thanks

Re: Minolta 5400 crossover from Mikrotek problem
Dear customer,
The drivers are included in SilverFast.
Make sure that you are logged in as an Administrator.
A normal user is not allowed to write the files in the system folder.
Also try repairing the disk permissions using the OSX disk utility.
(Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility)
Afterwards reinstall SilverFast.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Minolta 5400 crossover from Mikrotek problem
Hi Arne
thank you for your prompt reply.
I have checked & I am logged in as administrator. I have also carried out a full permissions repair.
Unfortunately even after complete uninstall & re install I am still getting the same message asking me to check that the drivers etc......
Kind regards
Iain
