Mimimum Minolta SE 5400 software to install with Silverfast?

Postby Felix » Tue Jan 04, 2005 1:26 am

I will be ordering Silverfast Ai with IT8 calibration for a Minolta Scan Elite 5400. Can anyone tell me what is the minimum Minolta software that I need to install to run the scanner from a Silverfast Ai Plugin in Photoshop CS?
What software can I skip? Also is the order of installation Minolta, then Silverfast?

Are the reference files for the IT8 calibration included with Silverfast, or are they supplied by Minolta?

Thanks for any help,

Felix

PS I forgot to ask if there is any problem with current software offered at the Minolta site for Mac OS working with OS 10.3.7. Thanks

Dear customer,

the drivers for the scanner should enough, but most of the manufactures combine their drivers with their software so dimage scan would be needed at least.

Further question to Sascha

Thank you for your reply, Sascha.

I had a bundled Silverfast Ai photoshop module for an Artixscan 4000tf (along with my previously purchased Silverfast Ai for Epson 2450) which ran the scanner without any additional (Microtek) software. However, I had to return the Artixscan and will be taking delivery on the Konica-Minolta Dimage SC 5400, which apparently requires OEM software. I intend to purchase Ai with IT 8 calibration for the Dimage. Could you kindly advise whether the reference files for the Silverfast calibration are included with the Ai software. Also, do I purchase the 35mm transmissive target separately?

Yours very truly,
Felix

Dear Felix,

the reference Files will be delivered to you when you buy the IT8 option.

If you buy a target only, if you have the IT 8 feature already, you could download it from the website.
