Auto exposure switch

Postby drm » Sat Jan 22, 2005 4:58 pm

Does anybody know what the auto exposure switch actually does (the "Lightbulb" icon). If you turn it off, logically you should be able to set manual exposure (lamp brightness). And does this relate to the Exposure slider in Ai Studio Picture Setings ? Or the brightness sliders in advanced options ?

The auto-exposure button enables to perform an automatic measurement of the optimal exposure time. This feature is hardware based and interacts with the scanner.

It does not have anything to do with the "brightness" or "exposure" sliders which are "software based".

Moreover, only some scanners with the auto-exposure button enable to set the scanner exposure manually. If this feature is available, it is in the "Options / Special" tab.
