Selecting 6x7 frames in film holder

Postby jpaulmoore » Sun Jul 29, 2007 12:31 am

I was hoping I could get some help here. I am trying out the newest version of Silverfast 6.5 with ME and I have somehow inadvertently changed how I select frames within my medium format film holder. Now I mount a single transparency in the holder in position 1, and then when I do a prescan, I don't see the image. It is like it is scanning somewhere else within the holder and it is just blank. What is the best way to find/locate an individual piece of film with the Microtek 120 tf using Silverfast 6.5

Thanks in advance!
J. Paul

Dear jpaulmoore

likely you used the film offset tool. You can either use it again to set up SilverFast correctly regarding your issue.

Or you set SilverFast completely back to factor settings by deletion of the "LaserSoft Imaging" folder while SilverFast isn't running.

On a typical Windows XP installation:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ (your username) \ Application Data \

On a typical Mac OS X installation:
/ User / (your username) / Library / Preferences /

If not, please don't hesitate to contact support: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html

Dear Sonny,
Thank you so much for your reply. This issue is now being handled by support, but I am almost 100% sure it is the film offset tool that you refer to. I just didn't know how to reset it. I would like to know how to use it properly to avoid this in the future. I was experimenting with the film offset tool when I ran into the problem. I will try your other suggestion for resetting it to the factory settings.

Thank you for your help with this. You have always been very helpful when I run into problems in the past.

Best,
J. Paul Moore
