firewire 8700 and silverfast

Is there any support for firewire with Silverfast? I am using win2000 and I can use the scanner with microteks software via firewire but silverfast will only see it via USB. Will it work with a mac running osx? I noticed on this site only icons for scsi and usb next to the 8700 pro - is this the case? And if so is there any coming support for firewire on the 8700?

There is now Scanwizard Pro 7 for the 8700 and OSX.
If you go to :-

http://www.microtekfiles.com/osx/

While holding the alt key down on the keyboard click on:-

SW Pro 7.0.dmq

This will download the software to your desktop, then install.
This should help until Silverfast is released.

My Silverfast with Win 2000 works very fine, are you shure your system has the firewire card detected?
