(1)+(2) The automatic image adjustment perhaps. Can't work if not the whole image is marked correctly. See (3)

(3) The two above might be a consequence of (3). To remedy, make sure you selected the correct settings for your film type and then use the film strip adjustment (further reading (0.7 Megs, PDF)).

(4) Calibration does not adjust negatives. Does this also occur if the film strip (cf. (3) above) is properly adjusted?

(5) Because you might lack the problem of (3).

Tom,

Did this solve your alignment issues? (item 3). I am having the same problem and the adjustment seems like it only moves the frames 'laterally'.
