120tf and glass holder: vertical edges?

Postby logicpocket » Sun Dec 24, 2006 5:57 am

Hello all,

I have noticed that using the 120tf with the glass holder (scanning 120 film), it does not seem to be possible to get all four edges of the film strip in the picture.

The horizontal edges are easy to correct of course.

But the VERTICAL edges, regardless of how the film is placed in the holder, remain impossible to have both of.

Since I see that this observation has been raised before, I was wondering if any sort of solution had been found, short of doing two scans and compositing them (yuck). Is this a Silverfast issue, or simply a limitation of the Microtek?

With the latest version 6.5, frame alignment has been corrected. While it is still not perfect, it does allow correction for different frame spacings. I know because I have 5 different backs/cameras that produce different frame spacings.

Prior to version 6.5, I had t place the frame of interest within the guides on both the glass and glass-less carriers

Cheers,
Bob
