I have just upgraded my notebook to a Dell Latitude D820 with Windows XP. It has an 1394 port and does recognize the scanner, however, it fails to start (code 10). The controller is an O2Micro OZ711EZ1.
Has anyone in this forum had similar problems?
Kind Regards,

I have not had a customer with this problem. I suggest you check if you get s similar problem with the Scanwizard software, and if you do, contact Microtek or the 1394 controller- manufacturer for support.
follow up
The Dell 820 is fitted with a 4-pin firewire connection. On my older notebook, firewire was mad available by using an Adapted 1422 PC card and is equiped with both 4 and 6-pin connectors.
I have two scanners, the Micortek 120tf and Minolta's excellent 5400 Mark I. Both, of course have firewire ports and both fail on the 820.
I though it may be in the cable so I fired up the older computer and used the 6 to 4-pin cable with both scanners. In both cases, they worked.
So, the problem is with the Dell D820 and not the interface, software or cable.
Cheers,
Bbob
