Which SilverFast for Microtek 9800XL scanner

I have an older Microtek 9800XL scanner (not the PLUS) I purchased used, and I have been using Microtek's ScanWizard software, I want to try SilverFast software and not sure which version will work.

Another question is: Do you have to have SilverFast for a specific scanner, or will SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio for Microtek ArtixScan M1 (AS M1) v 6.5.5r1 Lasersoft Software work with the Microtek 9800XL scanner?

Most scanning software works with different scanners, after installation, it asks you to select your scanner, does SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio for Microtek ArtixScan M1 (AS M1) v 6.5.5r1 work this way?

Dear customer,

That depends on your operating system.
SilverFast 6.6 is supported up to OS X 10.6 and Windows 7.
SilverFast 6.6 is the latest update for the 6.5.

SilverFast is individually tailored for each scanner and only works for the specified device.
