Hello--
I've been using SilverFast SE for a couple of years now, with a Microtek ScanMaker 6400XL (SCSI interface). I recently sold that scanner, because my new PowerMac G5 is PCI-X based and doesn't take the SCSI card, and I bought a new ScanMaker 9800XL.
Now, I see that SilverFast Ai supports the 9800XL, even under Panther. But the most recent Microtek model in this line that SilverFast SE supports is the 9600XL.
Why is this? Is there support for the 9800XL planned? I suspect the 9600XL version will work, but I'd like to get the official word on it before I buy the upgrade.
Thanks!
ScanMaker 9800XL support for SilverFast SE?

ScanMaker 9800XL support for SilverFast SE?
Dear Mr. Tiemann.
We balance the amount of effort and money well before we decide wether to develop a SE version for the scanner or not. The 9800XL is considered to be a professional scanner which means there is no SE support planned. You may want to contact sales@silverfast.de and ask for a cross upgrade.
Kind regards.
