overexposed looking scans

Im in the process of trying the demo of nega-fix. When scanning ilford fp4 35mm high key photos (studio shot with lots of white overexposed background) the images have no detail in the face(looks at least 4 stops overexposed)
Ive tried playing with the sliders etc, but it does not seem to help.
There is full detail in the neg and when i do the initial 6 frame preview the images look fine.
Any help is very much apreciated,thank you.

Just to add that im using a microtek 4000t.
