Is anyone using SilverFast 6 on Windows with X6 USB?
I'm using SE 5.5.1r09 (TWAIN via Paintshop Pro 7.04) with my X6 USB.
This is the latest version that works. 5.5.2r02 and all Version 6 releases I have tried hang 'Searching Devices'.
I'm using Windows 98SE, but I have also tested on a Windows 2000 PC with the same results. I've also tried the Photoshop plugin versions with SFApp.
This problem has been with LaserSoft technical support for nearly thirteen months now and a resolution has not yet been forthcoming.
I would like to know if anyone is actually using an X6 USB successfully with these later releases of SE?

I totally agree,
I've posted here last month a same topic.
I've e-mailed to the support, they advised me to use the PS version. but I'am still stuck (cannot connect to the device). In fact it seems that all the versions are bugged - AI twain- AI PS - SE Twain - SE PS
I hope this bug will be fixed very soon.

Don't raise your hopes too high. I first raised this problem with LaserSoft on 13th March 2002. Forty-five e-mails later the problem is still there. LaserSoft did say on 19th March 2002 that they 'could reconstruct the error', but nothing came of that.
We've gone over the same ground a few times. The main problem with LaserSoft technical support is that they do not seem to have any system for recording and tracking problem progress, so every time I write to enquire what's happening, it's all been forgotten and we start again.

A fix will be uploaded soon, hopefully early next week.

Eric,
I see on the SilverFast Development History that the problem is now said to be fixed.
The latest download Windows versions are still 6.0.1r44 (SE) and 6.0.1d43 (Ai). When will the new versions be posted?

Ai/SE 6.0.2r16(Mac)/6.0.1r47(Win): ScanMaker X6: scanner freezes when called as Twain (display shows "searching for devices..."), fixed.
