Windows 10 64bit Installation Hangs on First Installation Step

Just purchased a plustek 8200i with Silverfast 8Ai Studio and the installation process stops as it unpacks the files.
Tried with the update on your site, same issue.
Tried disabling all antivirus and same issue.

I have run out of options can you please help?

Dear user,

are you using a Windows System?

If so please open the optional items when installing.
Disable the option for VCredist and try running the installation now.
On some systems the Microsoft Visual C+ 2015 Redistributrable can not be updated for some reason.

In case that does not help create a shortcut of the installation file.
Right-click the shortcut and open the properties. There add /S /nocheck behind the Application line under "Target".
It should look like this: ...)_x64.exe /S /nocheck
Then run the shortcut.
The installation will run silently and only be visible in the Task manager.

In case of an OS X/macOS System make sure you are running the installation from an Admin account.

Having the same issue. I had r9 version installed and tried to update to r10 but dies after it unpacks the software. I have tried to uninstall everything r9 and did a revo unstall. Went in the regedit removed all references to Silverfast. Tried all of the suggestions from the previous post, just can't get a install without the installer crashing. r9 will not install now either.

Dear user,

Have you made sure all Windows updates are fully installed and finalized by a restart?
Some updates deactivate required components.
