Updated software not applying levels adjustments to scans

Silverfast was working fine until I recently upgraded to the latest version. Now, levels adjustments made in Silverfast aren't visible in Photoshop.

Any idea why ... and how to fix this?

Q: SilverFast did open and I could work with it, but all of a sudden (or now that I started it anew) it simply behaves odd or the quality is not as before or some dialogs seem not to operate adequately or it does not react anymore.

A: Solution:
It often helps to reset SilverFast's settings to the state immediately after installation of SilverFast software

SilverFast on Macintosh Systems:
-- SF as Photshop module
<> ...Adobe Photoshop / Plug-ins / Import-Export / SilverFast(<>) / SilverFast / Prefs
-- SF as TWAIN module
"Preferences" folder of current system / TWAIN / SilverFast / Prefs

SilverFast on Windows Systems:
-- SF as Photoshop module
<> ...Adobe Photoshop / Plug-ins / Import-Export / SilverFast / Prefs
-- SF as TWAIN module
<> / Windows or WinNT / TWAIN_32 / LaserSoft / SilverFast / Prefs

Please follow your path down to the "Prefs" folder and delete the entire "Prefs" folder.
This will erase all saved SilverFast settings and will set your SilverFast back to the state before the first-time launch. Restart your application.

Is this when scanning negatives or reflectives or both....?

In my case the output in photoshop differs from the preview in SF, but only when scanning negatives.

Hi. I will test with a a positive, but I only scan negs so this is really a BIG problem.

And I'm still waiting for Silverfast tech support to reply. Hello!! Anyone??

tech support figured it out. The preferences file to delete is found here:

C:\documents and settings\username\application data\lasersoft imaging

?username? is whatever username you have on your computer. The ?application data?- folder is hidden by default, so please enable ?view hidden files and folders? in your ?folder options? in case the folder is not shown.

It was the Prefs, it was just that you are using Windows XP and the folder was located under the user settings, right?
