Unstall SF AI5.5

I have just purchased an upgrade to SF 6.0. I was told that I must uninstall SF 5.5 before installing SF 6.0. I am running a Mac G4 under OS 10.2. Can anyone tell me how to do the uninstall. It this process necessary.
