Unable to install Update

Postby sealman » Wed Dec 29, 2004 3:46 pm

Greetings,
had to buy a new scanner, Microtek i700, used a Mikrotek E6 before.
Installed from supplied CD SilverFast Ai 6 "SFD-6.2.2r1", everything working fine, scanner found promptly, scanning like it's supposed to.
Then I find an update, "SFD-6.4.0r9(MicroSDK). Installation never asks for Photoshop, installs no Plugin in Photoshop 7.
Then the line: installation completed, close.
Photoshop starts the old installation, no new SF-Plugin (supposed to have ICE implemented) in Photoshop 7.
New try using SF Launcher, searching for scanner - the ball of death turns - turns - not finding scanner - last solution "apple-alt-esc".
Can anybody help, how can I install an update ?
Tried many ways, de-installing all SF, then installing Update - does not work, only the turning ball is there for shure.
Installing from SF-CD and it works.
But why does it work from the CD and not from the downloaded Update ? :(
I am using Mac OS 10.3.7 on a Dual 1,25 KHz G4 MDD , Scanner Microtek i700 connected via FireWire.

Regards

In the meantime I changed connection of scanner from Firewire to USB.
No change. Update will not function.
Any good hints?

Silverfast Update Problem

Postby alarryr » Tue Feb 01, 2005 5:26 pm

I was having the same problem with my Microtek i900 scanner. When I installed version 6.4.1r1a of Silverfast it could find my scanner.

There is a newer version posted on 31 Jan 2005. Version 6.4.1r2 When I uninstalled the older version and installed this version is works OK.

I don't understand why Lasersoft is sooo slow in responding to support requests. I never got an answer to the original email that I sent them regarding this problem.
