Tiger and Ai

SF_SE bundled with the Astra 6700 worked with 10.3.9 as a stand alone app. I upgraded to SF_Ai and Tiger at the same time. Now SF will not launch.
I've deleted/ reinstalled the latest version of Ai: no change.
SF launcher starts; requests a plugin folder; unexpectedly quits when I click the start button. The SF splash screen appears only briefly.

Tried logging in as another admin user, even root with no luck.
Any one?

This scanner isn't yet supported by SilverFast under Tiger.
