Hi, I just purchased the V6 upgrade of SilverFast AI (upgraded from 5.5 to 6). Per the install insructions, I downloaded the V6 upgrade, used Add/Remove programs to uninstall 5.5, then installed V6 as a Photoshop plugin (vs. standalone). When I go to Import in Photoshop I get a prompt to enter my serial #, name, and company. I enter the serial # information from the sales confirmation Email that Lasersoft sent me. However, when I enter it in it won't allow me to click OK, but will only move forward if I click Cancel, which sends me into Demo mode - ugh! I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, entering in the password vs. cut/copy, I even tried the IT8 calibration serial # in the confirmation mail but to change in behavior. Any suggestions? (I'm tempted to go back to 5.5). Configuration is a WinXpPro, Nikon 4000ED, Photoshop 6.0.01, Sliverfast AI: 6.0.1r28. I have sent mail to SF support but have not get response in 3 days.
Let me now if you have any suggestions.
Thanks

Happy BANK
I bought a NEW version today and had the same problem. It seems to be not upgrade, but common problem.
Please help!
It is HRD v.6, Windows XP Pro. Thanks in advance.
Dear SF users,
Please send the serial number you used for the serialization at:
https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
The support team will check if it is valid.
Philfa, if you got SF HDR & SF Nikon together as a bundle, please check that you did not try to serialize SF Nikon with the HDR serial number.

I also repeatedly encountered this problem.
The first time I had enterd the serial # with lower case letters and it was accepted at that point. Subsequenlty I was asked for serial number and couldn't get past registration whether or not I used upper or lower case letters.
I uninstalled Silverfast and Adobe Photoshop, then found all the Silverfast / LaserSoft folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Windows\Twain32 and deleted them. I also deleted all the Photoshop folders left after the uninstall. Then I reinstalled Photoshop and Silverrfast, started Photoshop, went to Import Silverfast and could only get into Demo Version.
Then I closed Photoshop, turned on my scanner, restarted Photoshop, went to Import Silverfast and tried again and it worked
It fails if the scanner is not turned on before starting Silverfast.

-> I am suprised that you were asked twice, at different moments, to serialize

-> I just wonder how you even managed to get into the demo mode when the scanner was turned off
Maybe I misunderstood something. Anyway, one shoud only be able to launch SilverFast and serialize when the scanner is on.

I think I was so confused by just what was and was not running when I first used Silverfast that the scanner was probably on.
If the scanner is not on the request to serialise occurs every time SF is imported into Photoshop.
I must admit I am (at an early stage) disappointed in Silverfast for use with transparencies.
I chose the Epson 3200 over the 2400 partly because of the favourable comments about SF, and now I discover I can't get a normal image (e.g. a JPEG) into it
I had hoped SF would speed up any image correction I need on a large number of transparencies I plan to scan with the 3200, but it seems it will slow the whole process down.
The 3200 on its own will scan 4 slides correctly into 4 files without endless messing around selecting image areas from the prescan and trying to manipulate them.
Am I missing something?
