Silverfast forgets Serial Number

I have a Silverfast Version bundled with a Umax Alpha Vista.
When I give in the serial printed on the Silverfast-CD, I can work with it, but the next time I restart the Photoshop Plugin,
the serial number window apears again.
Where is the serial number stored?

I have more than one Account on my machine.
Do I have to install Silverfast for every account?

from my experience assuming you're referring to Mac OS X:

1. you have to install for each account (although I haven't tried moving the registration data to the root /library directory)

2. each account must have admin privileges while you enter the serial number for the first time. otherwise, it won't stick and you'll be asked for the number again the next time.
