Silverfast can't find attached SCSI scanner in Windows XP

I have Silverfast 6.1 SE and Astra 1220S SCSI scanner on Initio Ultra SCSI PCI controller. Altrough build-in Windows XP driver recognises the Astra and I'm able to scan, there is no way to do so with Silverfast. I installed the latest version of Adaptec ASPI layer for XP - same results.
I use it as plug-in module in Photoshop 7, and each time Silverfast is run it keeps saying: "could not complete the import command because of a problem with the acquisition module interface".

Any ideas how to make it work?
