silverfast ai demo + epson 3200 + photoshop6 = crash

Hello, I just downloaded the AI demo, installed it on my machine to run with my new Epson 3200 scanner, and tried to open it from Photoshop 6. Despite a couple of reinstallations, as soon as I hit the import/silverfast AI menu, I get the splash screen and then my entire machine freezes. I'm on Win2k.
Help?
