Hi,
I am trying to start using newly purchased Silverfast 8 Ai Studio on PC with Win 7 x64.
I have Nikon LS-8000 and LS-9000 scanners. Both work fine under Nikon Scan installed on the same computer.
I have just installed Silverfast 8 Ai Studio.
Trying to start Silverfast 8 Ai Studio (scanner connected and ON, Nikon Scan NOT running).
Silverfast 8 Ai Studio starts fine, sees the scanner, but then I click "Start" button, and I get an error:
"There was a problem starting your scanner. Please make sure your drivers are installed correctly. Exiting now..."
Can you tell me if I am doing something wrong?
Thank you!
Gleb

Re: Silverfast 8 Ai Studio does not start
Dear user,
SilverFast can not use the old, outdated Nikon Scan drivers.
Please uninstall the Scanner through the Windows device manager. When prompted if the driver should be removed confirm that. Afterwards reinstall SilverFast and restart the computer.
In case that does not help repeat the procedure as Windows might have more then one old driver installed.
Kind regrads,
Arne

Re: Silverfast 8 Ai Studio does not start
Thank you, Arne.
I had followed your recommendations.
I have completely uninstalled Nikon Scan, removed all Nikon Scan files from the computer.
I had run Registry editor and removed all traces of Nikon Scan.
I had restarted the computer.
I had re-installed Silverfast (downloaded a most recent version).
When I turn ON the scanner - device manager sees it properly.
But Silverfast still generates the same error message.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Gleb

Re: Silverfast 8 Ai Studio does not start
Dear Gleb,
Please check the driver manufacturer in the device manager.
Is it LaserSoft Imaging? It should not be Nikon.
If it is Nikon you need to uninstall the scanner through the device manager and "remove the driver". (Did you do that? Uninstalling Nikon Scan will normally not be enough.)
Kind regards
Arne
