Silverfast 6.0 quitting Photoshop7.0, winXP

Hi

When I select Silverfast from the Import menu in Photoshop 7.0, I get the 'searching for devices' flash screen, then Silverfast and Photoshop abruptly quit to the desktop, without an error. They just disappear. I'm using the latest version of Silverfast (I've just downloaded it) and the latest Epson scanner drivers for my Expression 1680. The Epson Twain Pro import plugin works fine.

I've tried reinstalling the scanner drivers and Silverfast.

Has anyone had a similar problem and know how to fix this? It's driving me crazy.
