SFE-6.0.2r35(Kodak) installer fails to install USB driver

This weekend, I downloaded and attempted to install SFE-6.0.2r35(Kodak) for the RFS3600, on a PowerBook G4/667 running OS X 10.2.6. The plug-in can't see the scanner, even though it appears under Apple System Profiler. I notice that the installer created the directory /Library/Application Support/USB ScannerIO, but that directory is empty. Normally, of course, SilverFast uses drivers installed by the manufacturer's scan software, but in the case of the RFS3600, there is no manufacturer software for OS X, so I'm assuming the installer should install the PIE drivers. I tried re-installing with the scanner attached, which I had not done initially, but it made no difference. Please help.

Dear David -
I checked the installer for the Kodak RFS3600.
Please download version SF 6.0.2r36.
I tested it on Mac 10.2.6 - USB.
The driver and plug-in are working correct now
