Serial problem on Windows 2000 and SilferFast v6.4.1r1

Postby vovaodei » Wed Jan 26, 2005 2:30 pm

Hi!

Following problem: i just downloaded & installed the SilverFast v6.4.1r1, upgrading the previous v6.0. I even wasn't prompted for a serial again.
Everything worked fine.

When i run the program as Administrator - everything work fine.

If i try to run the program as a mortal user - it asks me at EVERY start for a serial number. I type everytime the serial, try to "register" - it seems to work, BUT - as i discover everytime later its demomode.
I found similar questions here it the forum, but the answers concerned Windows XP, and not Windows 2000.

What i tried to do is: five full read/write access to Folders & Subfolders of:
c:\windows\twain_32
C:\Programme\LaserSoft.
Nothing changed. The program still "forget" the registration data.

My System is: Windows 2000(! Not XP!)
Scanner is: MicroTek 9800 XL
Software is: SilverFast Ai v6.4.1r1

Vladimir Vecgailis.

P.S. By the way: i had the same problem yesterday, as i installed the purchased "boxed" SilferFast version 6.0.

The tip from Mr. Bruhn was: to give full read/write access
to the "All Users"-Folder.

That helped.

Summa Summarum:
I needed to give Full read/write access to following folders & subfolders:

c:\windows\twain_32
c:\profiles\All Users
c:\Programme\LaserSoft
