Serial Number New Scanner

Hi all:

I originally purchased SE for a PIE1800, but I have upgraded to a different scanner (Minolta IV).
I have a 20 character serial number which is not accepted by the software. Is the software key coded per scanner. In other words, if I have a new scanner and an old key do I need a new key for the scanner.

The key I have copied to the "I don't know which version of software I have" and used there to verify the version it is for, so I know the key is good.
Ideas why the key will not work?

Hi d_m_t,

Each scanner you own requires it's own seperate Silverfast serial number. In other words, the Silverfast software is non-transferable, and yes, it is coded per scanner.
