SE Plus 6.4.4r7 runs, AI Studio 6.5.1r1a doesn't

Hi,

Scanner: Nikon LS-2000 (SCSI), Platform: Windows XP Pro SP2

For sometime I'd had SE Plus 6.4.4r7 (and earlier versions) running and a few months ago I even had demos of AI Studio 6.5 running.

Yesterday I installed AI Studio 6.5.1r1a and I get the "Scanner or device not found message" (paraphrased).

I tried uninstalling all versions, deleting all SF directories (including in Documents and Settings) and reinstalling only 6.5.1r1a, and still no success. (All this included many reboots.)

The SF_log file shows the Nikon Scanner present, as did the log files from the older versions.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Some more information....

6.5.0r3a demo runs, however

6.5.1r1a does the "searching devices" for 2 seconds then brings up the dialog box "There was no scanner found...." In fact it doesn't even get to screen where I can enter my serial number.

The SF_Logfile.txt shows
