Refuses to accept upgrade serial number

Postby ricksdad19752001 » Thu Feb 06, 2003 11:58 am

I note that I am not the first to experience this problem. Let me share mine. I purchased an upgrade from SilverFast Ai version 4.x to SilverFast Ai version 6.x and attempted for approximately 3 hours to get my system to accept the upgrade serial number. Needless to say I have had no success otherwise I would not be here.

I shall call my USA distributor in Florida this AM to see if he/she can "walk" me around this problem and I will get back to one and all.

Thank you for asking. Yes, I am up and running with this wonderful SilverFast version 6. It is truly unreal. The folks in Florida outdid themselves in solving my problems.

I called the LaserSoft regional office in Florida and spoke with a fine technician who "talked" me through the proper process. Unfortunately, I did not write the procedure down! Just call. They are very helpful.

Thank you for your concern. I am 72 years young and have been hacking away at computers since 1984 when I bought my first Mac 128. This user group is by far the most helpful that I have ever experienced.

Here's the thing. When the folks sent me my upgrade from SilverFast 4x to 6x they sent two discs: one is for the Si program and the second is for the Hdr feature. By mistake the Si disc was for Mac machines but the Hdr version was for IBM! After several hours of trying to figure out what was wrong I realized that the Mac disc could not be read by my IBM clone. In a heartbeat they Fed X'd me replacement.

How nice it is to deal with a firm and its vendors who truly care about their customers. My hats off to one and all connected with this venture.
