PSElements4 is showing old Silverfast version

Recently installed updates to both PS Elements (up to 4) and to Silverfast going up to SE Plus. At install I mistakenly chose to do the stand alone version of Silverfast instead of the plugin. In the dropdown window on Elements 4 for Import from Scanner there is the old version 5 of Silverfast showing and it installs when clicked.

I want to get rid of the version 5(do I just uninstall it completely?)
Also I want to install the new version 6 SE Plus as a plugin for PSE 4.

This is probably a simple process, but, I could use some help, PLEASE!! I only know a little about all of this, just enough to get in trouble!

please run the "add/remove software" routine from the control panel first to get rid of the old SilverFast version.
However, because of how the Windows uninstaller (justifiably) works, it won't necessarily remove files from other programmes' folders.
Thus, after a restart you might want to check
\Program files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 4\Plug-Ins\Import-Export\
and remove anything named SilverFast or LaserSoft (and nothing else!) from that folder that belongs to the old SF version.

You might want to put a shortcut to the Photoshop plug-in of the new SilverFast version into this very folder.
The SilverFast plug-in resides in
\Program files\LaserSoft\SilverFast(ScannerManufacturer)\

Photoshop needs a restart to reflect changes made to the import-export folder in its File>Import menu.

I uninstalled Silverfast Twain program and a Silverfast program

Did Restart

Opened Elements 4 Organizer window & dropdown shows only 3 choices now, NOT including Silverfast Epson SE(32bit)

Checked Program files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 4.0\...import-export & it shows 3 files --save for web(EL) .8be 5024KB 8BEfile

Opened Silverfast Launcherfrom desktop
Shows Plugin: Silverfast(Epson-SE) (6.43r8)
Folder: c:\programfiles\Adobe\PhotoshopElements4.....import-export
open automatically is checked
Did a scan and Elements 4 opened up correctlyin the Editor window.

Do I not understand correctly that I should be able to open Elements Organizer window and then select Silverfast from the dropdown for getting photos from scanner, do prescan, make adjustments with Silverfast, do my scan and then have the scanned photo go straight into the Elements Editor for further adjustments?

As of now there is no option to scan using Silverfast unless I open it from the desktop first. The options available areAdobe PSElements, Epson Perfection 2450, and Epson Twain.
Previously the 4th option , to use Silverfast produced the Silverfast 5 screen. That seems to have been eliminated by the uninstall.

I appreciate your patience as I'm a bit dense at times...

I think you might be able to do what you want from within the Editor Vs the Organizer.
