Photoshop CS recognizing Silverfast 6Ai

I have Silverfast 6Ai with the IT-8 option installed currently in Photoshop 7 and have just loaded Photoshop CS. When I copied the Silverfast folder from the PS 7 import-export subfolder to the same place in CS, there was no recognition. I then tried a "fix" of Silverfast 6Ai to see if it would locate and load into the right place in CS with no luck. Is there any way to get Silverfast 6Ai into Cs without having to recalibrate, redocument, etc. Thanks in advance.

Drag copying should actually work, but there are other ways:

First, drag your old SilverFast folder to the desktop.

Next, register/download our latest installer from this site (only r5 or higher will see Photoshop CS). Run this installer, select Photoshop CS and wait for installation to complete.

Now go into your old SilverFast folder, and pull out the 'Prefs' folder. Put this folder into the new SilverFast folder, that was just recently installed.

Launch Photoshop CS, and everything should be back to normal.

Please note... you should have Photoshop CS closed before doing any of this stuff

Thanks. I tried drag copying the folder again and this time it worked. Another photographer told me that on his XP machine, CS automatically recognized Silverfast.

Running Windows XP Pro, installed Photoshop CS. Installed Silverfast SE 6 that came with my Epson 3200 scanner. Photoshop doesn't recognize Silverfast NOR does the standalone verson work. Please help. This looks like a great product that I can't wait to try.

Hi Nick,

Just registered. Entered the forum to see if I could find info on my CS locking up with LS SF6ai. Followed you upgrade/prefrences file directions and things are rocking.

Scan speeds in CS are way up as well if I am not mistaken. Is this true based on LS tests?
