Opticfilm 7500i SE not working under Win 7 Professionl 64bit

Postby Arndt » Mon Jul 23, 2012 9:43 pm

I have a Plustek Opticfilm 7500i SE scanner that came with Silverfast 6.5. I built a new computer running Win 7 Professional 64 bit and installing the Plustek and Silverfast software from the discs that came with the scanner doesn't work.

I've downloaded the updates from Plustek and can do a Quickscan only.

Somewhere on this board LSI_Morales states that "SilverFast is compatible with Windows 7 from version 6.6.1r2." and "If your SilverFast version is previous than 6.5, you will need to purchase an upgrade to the latest version." This is not not very helpful since according to this page: http://www.silverfast.com/show/windows7/en.html my scanner is listed as supported by Silverfast 8.

How can I get the scanner to work with Win 7 64 Pro without buying Silverfast 8. I bought my scanner several years ago, probably in 2006, so I don't even qualify for a discount.

Dear Arndt,

When did you purchase your scanner?

If you purchased your scanner less than 3 months ago you can get a free SilverFast 8 Upgrade here.

Otherwise you can download the latest update (6.6.2r5) for your version here.
Please note that SilverFast 6.6 is still a 32bit software and requires the 32bit driver.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Arndt,

Yes you are right I must have overlooked the last sentence.
sorry.

If you only need an update you get it from our website.
That should give you an installer for version 6.6.2r5.
This is the latest update for a version 6.5.

In case you are interested in SilverFast 8 the discount for the upgrade is not bound to your purchase date.
If you have a version 6.5/6.6 you will get 50% discount.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn

Vielen Dank Herr Ketelhohn!

Arndt Jones

Sehr geehrter Herr Jones,

Arne Ketelhohn.
