negafix profiles not listed

Hi,

just reinstalled silverfast ai 6.2 on my windows 7 pc for working with my minolta scan elite 5400

now when trying to scan a negative, settings in general tab on transperancy, negative
the negafix window shows a dropdown list for a profile, however no profiles can be selected.
it shows <other>, <delete>, and <import>

when using other a black image is produced when prescanning..
using import shows a link to a specific folder on c:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Lasersoft Imaging\SilverFast\Prefs

SF (Minolta DSE 5400).prf
SF (Minolta DSE 5400-FS).prf
SFApp (Minolta).prf

only first file can be selected (other say it's in use) but has no effect on profile list.

When however in the general tab negative is changed into positive, a negative image is produced in preview.
so the problem is definitely in the software and not the scanner..

please let me know where i can download the negatix profiles or how i can use the existing profiles and get
the program working again.

It has always functioned perfect on the same computer with the same software before..
and there has always been a list of profiles to select from.

Dear Leon,

Your scanner unfortunately is not supported in Windows 7.
There are no official drivers available for this OS.

Hello Arne,

It have been working fine with windows 7 for a few monts and several hundreds of slides..

so should be able to get it working..

any tips ?

Dear Leon,

We never got the scanner to work correctly on our test systems.

Did you try deleting the Preference folder?
This will reset SilverFast and reload the NegaFix profile list.

Try deleting the "LaserSoft Imaging" folder in:
C:\users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\

If you haven't yet changed the standard setting of the Windows Explorer you won't see any folder "AppData" under your user name, at that point you have to change the folder settings.

In windows explorer press the "Alt" key to see the menu bar, you then want to open the "tools" menu and choose "folder options"; in the new window go to the "View" tab, select the option "Hidden files and folders" and mark the option "show hidden files and folders", you will now be able to see the "AppData" folder and carry on the entire process.

All your specific settings will be lost (saved frame settings, defaults, CMS settings, own Negafix profiles)!

We advise to keep a copy of that folder somewhere else.

Deleting the folder was the solution.

everything seems to be working fine again, full list of negafix profiles is listed again.
