Microtek M1 on Windows 7 64bit?
Microtek M1 on Windows 7 64bit?
We have created a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit on our machine that has been operating our Microtek M1 (was win xp 32bit). Everything "seemed" to work well installing Silverfast Ai from our disk, until we launched the software and it said there was no scanner attached. After looking at the version installed from the disk, it is version 6.6.0.R4C. I see that 6.6.1.R2 has some windows 7 support, but it also looks like 64bit is not supported for this scanner via the silverfast win 7 support info page. Is this still the case (and if so will it ever be supported?). I dont want to waste my time downloading the update, uninstall, install update just to find out it doesn't work. I have a lot of other software I still need to install so I will continue on and come back to this problem in a few hours or monday.

Re: Microtek M1 on Windows 7 64bit?
SilverFast 6.6 does not support the Microtek M1 under Windows 7 64bit.
We are currently rewriting SilverFast 8 for this device and it probably will be possible to adapt this version to the 64bit drivers because SilverFast is 64bit itself now.
For SilverFast 6.6 which is a 32bit software this will not be possible due to the driver structure.
SilverFast 8 will be available for your device during the upcoming weeks.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
