Hello,
I have had a howtek 7500 and Silverfast for many years. It is a registered version, and I have the CD. To make a long story short - SCSI problems have forced me into an environment where I am installing on a vintage 1999 mac G4 tower. The whole thing only works in OS 9. So I tried to get my legal copy working, and I entered the serial number, and of course the program wants to see my CD to verify everything is good. My CD reader in the mac is broken - won't open, wont read when I manually feed a CD in - it is dead. Is there anyway you can help me get this product out of demo mode without spending time and money to buy another CD reader? This computer exists solely for this one program and is on only several times a year. I have installed silverfast in other computers in os 9 (although they will not work with the scanner) Is there a file I can take from the computer that has a working CD and a serialized version of SF and drag it to some folder on the mac with the broken CD reader?
Thank you,
Tony
