Help launching silverfast upgrade

I managed to find all silverfast import/export plugins and delete them (I had downloaded the demo version from you site). Then I did another install from the CD of silverfast 5 (still do not understand why I don't have the latest 5.5). You helped me to find my version 4.1 serial number but when I enter it, it will not take. All I can do is cancel and use MY program in demo mode (? after I spent $128 for the upgrade). This should be simple. What am I doing wrong?

I have a Mac G4, OS 9.2, and Epson expression 800 scanner.
