Error:1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime

Postby thoneu » Sun Mar 16, 2003 1:01 pm

I am trying to install Silverfast AI demo - twain and PS plugin (6.0.1D38)
But the Install Shield stops every time with the same error:
1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.
I tried to install on the same machine with different OS Win2000-SP3, WinXP, also on different machines
I’m using an Admin account , Epson 2450 photo and Twain 5 and Photoshop Elements.
Can you help?
Thank you

Error:1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime

Postby thoneu » Thu Mar 20, 2003 11:48 am

Thank you for the response to this error.

The following application events have been registered in the event viewer:

Product: ISScript -- Error 1335.The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
Product: ISScript -- Installation operation failed.

After registering the file msiexec.exe manually, this error is still there.
The InstallShield (msiexec v2.0.2600.2) works fine with other installations and reports no errors.

The Error 1335 comes up, when the installer packet is not complete/corrupt. Please download it again with a downloadmanager.
If this error come by installing from CD, the CD may be broken. You could send it, we send you a new one back.

Error:1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime

Thank you for the fast response.

I just downloaded the last revision from your download page for Silverfast Ai demo (SFTWE-6.0.1D43 and SFE-6.0.1D43(Epson)) and stored the files to a location (c:\install) and started the install from there, but the errors still come up.
Product: ISScript -- Error 1335.The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
So I assume the packet is still not complete.

Thank you
Tom

I think so too. The packet itself here is ok. There seem a problem with the download.
Please check yout Temp folder during the installation. The installer extract itself there.

Installer problems

Postby gcarroll » Wed Jul 09, 2003 12:05 am

I too have had numerous instances of Error 1335. Seems as if every other update is corrupt. You may be able to download it cleanly there, but there is a serious problem somewhere. SFE-6.0.2r36(Epson).exe has a corrupt data1.cab; SFE-6.0.2r32(Epson).exe does not. I downloaded the corrupt file twice with the same result each time I tried to install it. I have reported the problem numerous times to tech support, yet the problem persists. No other updater causes this problem. Is there an FTP service that might allow us to download the files through a different route or from a different server?
