When trying to install epson 636, after my computer reboots, it says to put the CD-Rom in, but it's already in the CD-Rom drive.
When I try to find the scanner through Adobe Photo Deluxe, it says to make sure the scanner is on, and then it says the scanner isn't ready.

I assume that you ran the SilverFast installer and are asked to restart your computer after the install ran through without errors.
You could be of any of these two stages:
(1) You want to serialize the software and are asked to put the CD in.
(2) Your system wants to install drivers which haven't been installed yet.
Are you trying to connect to the scanner by selecting something like "File" -> "Import..." from the program's menu?
It seems that you scanner isn't found, probably because it isn't properly installed.
I would need more detailed information to answer you this question properly. Please contact info@silverfast.com with a problem description, the more precise you are, the better and faster can our answer be.
If you can find it, please attach the SF_Logfile (search via Explorer or Sherlock or Finder, depending on what system you use) to your mail.

I put the Epson scanner cd-rom in the cd-rom drive. It asked if I wanted to RE-install and I said yes, because I can't find it on my computer. It started re-installing and it got to the point where it says that you have to restart the computer for it to work. I said, yes, restart now. Then it asks me to put the software in the cd-rom drive - even though I'd never taken it out.
I tried to do it all again, from the beginning, and the exact same thing happened.

please don't get me wrong, but I cannot answer you questions about scanning software products from Epson. You might want to contact Epson support about your installation problem (www.epson.com/support).
However, if I somehow misinterpreted what you've written, and you were indeed installing SilverFast, please try looking for a SF_Logfile and the installer logfile within the SilverFast folder and send both to: info@silverfast.com
