Epson SE Upgrade Will Not Upgrade

Greetings...

I have downloaded SFE-6.4.2r1a(Epson-SE).sit which is the latest upgrade for an Epson 1670 scanner. I run the installer (several times) and when complete, it say installation was successful. Yet... when I launch SilverFast via SF Launcher, the version shows as SFE-6.4.1r3(Epson-SE) which is the previous version update around February 2005. Where is the installer putting the files?

I have looked at some of the plugin, etc dates and all that I have found indicate the earlier version. On one of the times that I ran the installer I had the installer place the Dock icon... which it did but all traces of SilverFast that I can find indicate the previous version. What's going on??? you may need to delete
/Applications/SilverFast Application
/Applications/Photoshop/Plugins/Import-Export/
/User/(your username)/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging/

I suggest you then want to download and install the latest update release of your version of SilverFast from our website.

Thank you for your comments regarding inability of the SFE-6.4.2r1a(Epson-SE) updater to properly update SilverFast-SE for me. I will remove noted items and try installer again.

When I posted the problem I was experiencing, I was under the belief that others might be experiencing the same problem... and maybe some others are experiencing same problem. Not once did I consider the forum a venue for personal support... although after your comments, I'm not sure what the "Installation Problems" intended usage is... Jim[/quote]

guess that's a kind of historical part of the forum...
No harm done anyway

Generally spoken, 6.4 releases shouldn't have a problem with updating SilverFast. But as this might depend on file access permissions set on a given system, they may be the odd computer which needs human assistance

Thanks Sonny... I've updated a number of times over the past year and a half without any problems so I don't feel it's a matter of technique. I'll try a couple of more things, then if it still does not update... I'll just wait for the next update... Jim
