Epson Expression 1600 Demo won't install

Hello!

I currently have three scanners connected to my Win XP box: Polaroid SS-4000 (SCSI); Epson 2450 (USB) and Epson Expression 1600 (USB). I have two copies of SilverFast: AI 6.2.x (Polaroid, PS Plugin) and SE 6.1.x (Epson-SE, PS Plugin). I decided to try the demo for the Expression 1600. I downloaded it and ran the installer. It tells me that there is already a version of this software installed, and that I must uninstall it. What is it talking about? In any case, the demo will not install; any ideas?

The plugin you are using for the Epson 2450 ("Epson-SE, PS Plugin") is what the Demo for the Epson Expression 1600 recognizes as "an older version".
If you want to try the demo, you would need to deinstall the other plugin first. Didn't you want to update that 6.1 version anyway...?

Hello!

I installed the 6.2.x version of the Epson-SE plugin. Now the demo installer continues to refuse to run, AND none of the SilverFast UNINSTALLERS will run either! I launch the uninstaller (from "Add or Remove Programs"), it begins to run and then simply disappears. No error message, no dump, no Event Log entry. Can someone kindly send or post an Installer Log for the Epson-SE plugin and the Polaroid-AI plugin so I can do a manual uninstall and try to get things back to normal?

please contact SilverFast support staff under info@silverfast.com for a SilverFast registry remover tool. This might be of help in your efforts of getting rid of the erroneous (de-)installation.
