Driver problems

Postby dilbertov » Wed Nov 12, 2014 6:39 pm

I have moved from Windows 7 to 8.1 (64 Bit)and have reinstalled SilverFast Ai IT8 Version: 6.6.2r5 for use with a Braun Multimag Slidescan 4000, as before.

On installing from the SFen-6.6.2r5(AFL).exe downloaded file I get a message "The 64 bit device drivers for the connected AFL scanner have not yet been installed... If SilverFast doesn't detect the Scanner, please download the drivers from the AFL website." The scanner is not detected when starting SFL.

The only drivers I could find, via https://www.silverfast.com/problemrepor ... faq_id=159, were marked "Driver for DigitDia / PowerSlide / Multimag Series". I have installed this driver by disabling Driver Signature checking. It shows as installed and working in Device Manager, but as a "Multiple Slide Scanner 5000/6000" On the previous Windows 7 drivers it always showed as a Reflecta 3600.

SFL still cannot connect to the scanner and brings up a box saying, "There was no scanner found! Check that your scanner is properly connected to your computer and is switched on. If SilverFast still can't find your scanner, please refer to the logfile "SF_LogFile.txt" inside your SilverFast folder." (I cannot find this file). I have rebooted and power-cycled the scanner and this makes no difference.

Do you have any guidance, please?

Dear customer,

The version of SilverFast 6 you are using unfortunately is not compatible with Windows 8.1.

To use SilverFast with Windows 8.1 you need an upgrade to SilverFast 8.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
