Cannot Initiate Latest SE Version

I have a problem initiating the latest SE release for Photoshop. I have an older version of SE and it works fine. I took the serial number and registered then downloaded the latest release.

I then installed it and can see it under Photoshop/Import. When I select SE from the Import menu it prompts me for an unlock. I enter name and serial number and it accepts it and brings me directly to the scanning software. I then scan and save. When I save the image has a series of small rectangular bars across a diagonal. I presume the software thinks I am in Demo Mode.

When I close down SE then access it again via Photoshop import the unlock dialog reappears and this happens every time I attempt to access. I sent a copy of my serial number via the support page of this site under "Installation" assistance.

Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated.

I found the section on FAQ for problems with serialization. I followed the instructions for deleting the serialization file and this problem still remains. Any assistance would be appreciated.
