Artixsacn 120TF scanner driver (firewire)

Postby zareg » Sun Jun 11, 2006 12:40 pm

Microtek Artixscan 120ft on IBM notebook R51 via Firewire (Windows XP prof. Sp2) I have problems with firewire drivers.
When I boot computer, scaner drivers loads properly, after a while scanner driver within driver properties becomes unavailable (yellow triangle,This device cannot start. (Code 10)) scaner driver shows 3 files (scsiscan.sys)
I read all the links to Microsoft regarding that isue but found no sollution.
The only solutions that worked was reinstall of silverfast sw.
If you have maybe heard for a problem like this I would apreciate any sugestions. I am using silver fast pro AI 6 studio software (last version available for download 6.4.4.r2) I even have upgraded scanner firmware from 1.2 to 1,7.
According to the fact that I found in this forum many firewire problems I would suggest Lasersoft to take more care to that isue.

i don't believe that SF writes directly to the scanner. They usually go through the vendor provided interface and the OS. Since you are having problems in the OS with the driver talking with the device, i would focus there. Make sure that ASPI is installed correctly (ASPICHK) if needed by the driver and the native Microtek software is working properly. If that is working ok , then there could be a problem between SF and the driver. Otherwise it is between the driver and the OS. Or perhaps the firewire cable ?

best regards,

checking the driver settings

Postby zareg » Fri Jun 16, 2006 11:25 pm

Dear sirs! When I wonted to update firewire drivers I noticed that under the driver section (driver manager)
IEEE 1394 I found 2 drivers, ohci complient IEEE 1394 host controler and texas instruments OHCI compliant 1394 host controler,
Under the scenner section I noticed 2 drivers for Fire wire
they are artixscan 120tf, just one has version 1.0.1.1 from 19.3 03.second has no version mark.

How can I delete from driver settings second drivers?
Am I searching in right direction to start firewire running?
