Ai Studio won't accept upgrade to IT8 version

Hi, I've sent in a support request but maybe someone is watching this forum that can help me. There are so few installation problems that maybe this should be here anyway for users, so here goes.

I had Ai6 Studio 6.4.3r9 installed as a Photoshop plug-in. I ordered the IT8 upgrade and a whole new code was sent, 6.4.3r8 with the target, which installed OK, and that version shows, but not the new reg# so that the IT8 upgrade gets activated. I registered the new number online, but the old reg# just won't go away to be replaced on the PC. I uninstalled before the new install, manually deleted files and folders, but no joy.

Thus I can't see the IT8 calibration.

How do I "completely" uninstall the old version? or, get the new one to be requested?

As write this I realize just maybe... I think I'm going to check if they updated the download for the the old req#. I checked after the purchase, but just in case.

FYI - turned out to be "i", (info) credits, upgrade. Whodathunk? They say it's in the documentation somewhere.

Worked just right, except the "auto-tab" doesn't "select" the old versions reg# and won't delete the characters with the delete key. It worked by manually tabbing back and forth into the cells for each 5 digit number.

Wanted to mention that the IT8 setup is great! Fast and easy and accurate. They say you can calibrate every time you scan. For me this will also confirm that I didn't mess up any of my settings.

which threw me off for a minute (in case anyone else reads these things).

Another VERY annoying thing is that there is NO CONFIRMATION that the color file reference was found and calibrated. I don't always need, or like, all the "confirmation" items in software but this software needs it because it is reading the barcode and finding the file "somewhere". There is no installation location!! And no confirmation that it read the barcode at all! So I spent a way too long "confirming" the colors.

I suppose there is a proper other "suggestion" list to put this on so I'll stop here.

Again, the IT8 calibration is WONDERFUL !!
