6.5.5r1 failure with prior Job Manger entries

Postby hmmacha » Fri Oct 19, 2007 4:49 pm

I use Job Manager to save scan parms for each film roll with my Nikon film scanner. When I want to rescan a frame, Job Manager is my starting point.

After installing SF6.5.5r1 from 6.5.1r1, I found that 6.5.5r1 aborts when I open any Job created by a prior release. SF6.5.5r1 can create a Job and open its own.

Release 6.5.1r1 would open jobs created by prior releases. I have downgraded back to SF6.5.1r1 and while it can not open the Job created by 6.5.5r1, it does not abort.

Prior to each test, I deleted the SF preference files.

Presently I have hundreds of frames in Jobs prior to 6.5.5r1, how can I upgrade them to 6.5.5r1?

Dear hmmacha

SilverFast usually should read the old prefs during an update install and transform them if the prefs format has been changed. But with certain file permissions set by the operating system this cannot always be done.

If your SF prefs cannot be used with the recent version, that's tough luck, I am awfully sorry, but I am afraid to say there's nothing that can be done, then. Please excuse the inconveniences caused.

Thanks for the reply.

All jobs work fine until release 6.5.0r3d. Not all interim Silverfast releases to current are available for download. Is it possible to get access to the interim releases until current? This may allow me to progress the jobs in a stepwise manner.
Thanks,
