6.0.1d16 failure to install

Hi,
I've sent a message on this through the technical reporting procedure and posted it on the PIE interest section so now let me try here. Maybe my system is at fault (if so it would be the first time for SilverFast Ai) but the new release of 6.0 for the PIE 1800 series using Windows98/Twain (6.0.1d16, 10/10/02) won't install. The error is network error 1316 and refers to the ???.msi installation file, which cannot be read. If, on odd occasions, the installation proceeds past the error the next message is that the installer cannot read this file because it is already being used by another process.

This is really silly. I'm going to presume that LaserSoft is in disarray and will check back in about two months. Sad really.
