Hello SilverFast forum,
I recently bought a flatbed scanner (Epson V800) to start digitize years’ worth of photos and negatives. Very quickly I upgraded the SilverFast SE 8 included with the scanner to the ‘Have it all’ SilverFast Archive Suite 8 so I can scan in RAW format.
After using SilverFast for a week or so, I have to say it is a great tool for scanning photos and negatives, and fairly easy to use I think. But now I have a few questions about the use of IT-8 calibration targets.
First question: Is it correct I don’t need any targets for scanning negative film because the ‘NegaFix’ function in SilverFast will take care of getting correct colours?
Second question: For calibrating photos I can choose between reflective targets for Kodak or Fuji. But which one should I choose, and why?
Kind regards,
Daan Tempel
Which IT-8 calibration target to choose?
