V750 Silverfast SE Plus 8 - how do I?

Postby Paul Reading » Sat Nov 09, 2013 4:01 pm

I am finding this software very frustrating because I cannot seem to find any information on how to do some basic things.

1. The system defaults to /Pictures and TIFF. How do I change it to default to a folder called scans and JPEG(I know it is lossy).

2. If I scan an image at 1200 dpi I get an image that is say 3x4cm 1200dpi where as I want something say 30x40cm 72dpi so the image has the same resolution but will just show up differently.

3. I can't find a way to select all the images so that when I bulk scan it applies the same adjustments to all images. It is really tedious to have to click on every single frame and then start clicking on the adjustments I want to make. I can't believe the software was made like this there must be a simple way to do this.

4. Under scan dimensions there is a save button with the ability to save a pre-set. Having saved a preset I see no way to deploy the settings saved.

Dear customer,

SilverFast SE (Plus) always defaults to the basic settings when resetting the scan frame.
Custom frame presets are only possible in SilverFast Ai Studio.

You can set the 72dpi as the "preset" and set the image size in the scan dimension's expert settings (gear wheel).

In the frame tab you can find the option to "copy settings to all frames".
That allows you to transfer the current frame's settings to all others.

After saving a tools settings you can recall them by clicking on the disk again.
the saved settings will be shown in the list.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
