Sprintscan 120 - Glass Carrier 120 not recognized

Postby FuzzyD2 » Sat Aug 27, 2005 5:02 am

I actually have to Polaroid Sprintscan 120 scanners. One of which I just purchased and one old. The old one works well accept for a slight subtle horizontal band across the top quarter of the image. I use the glass carriers to get full frame scans. My old sprintscan recognizes the glass carrier no problem.

The new scanner does not recognize the glass carrier as medium format but instead as 35mm. It seems that the carrier at the head of the carrier has notches that act as a key which recognizes the type of carrier. The glass is not being recognized correctly. Any help out there or anyone else experience this problem.

Finally, I tried cutting a notch out of the glass carrier to match the medium carrier that comes with the scanner. No luck - infact the scanner ejected the carrier as no good. GREAT!

You might want to do some research about this on Polaroid's website. As far as I remember, there was a Firmware update for this scanner, which enabled support for the glass holder.
