Silverfast 8 Calibration with transparency slide

Greetings. I am new to slide scanning, however proficient in other digital software (Adobe PS).
I am attempting to calibrate my OpticFilm 8200i using your 35mm IT8 Calibration target slide.
I have watched your video regarding this process.
Firstly, the preview scan is cropped by the scan window, IOW it appears to be zoomed in too far, not showing/scanning the outside areas of the slide.
Secondly, after the preview scan, I am asked via a "Select Reference File" window for a filename, and the IT8 calibration small window stating "Searching reference file...."

Dear customer,

please make sure the slide is inserted in the correct direction.
The scanner can only scan them in one direction.
